Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Postponed 2020 Telecommunicator Training Symposium

When has the Symposium been rescheduled for?

The 2020 Telecommunicator Training Symposium has been postponed to October 11-14, 2020.

Where will the postponed event be held?

The event will be held at the original host site, the Embassy Suites by Hilton - Greensboro Airport

Why did we select dates in October?

 Due to the size of our event the host venue only had one date later in the year that could accommodate our group. We made an effort to quickly secure the new dates to ensure the necessary availability.

Why did we postpone the event?

Out of an abundance of caution, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our attendees and to comply with Executive Order 117 issued by Governor Cooper, our leadership has made the decision to postpone the 2020 Telecommunicator Training Symposium from April 2020 to October 2020.

What if I have already registered?

All registrations for the April event will automatically be transferred to the October dates. We will be waiving the $25 name change fee if you need to transfer the registrations to other staff members.  To request a name change please contact NC APCO Treasurer Lori Laughlin.

What do I do if I want to fully cancel my registration?

The North Carolina APCO Executive Board has established a symposium cancellation policy that will allow anyone to request a refund for their registration, minus a $75 processing fee per registration.

Who can change a registration name or cancel a registration?

Any registration changes must be requested by either the individual's name that is on the registration or the individual who is listed on the credit card used for payment.

Can I still register for the new event?

Absolutely!  Registration will re-open in early April, with several special flash registration opportunities before the event.

What do I do about my hotel reservations?

Anyone who has made reservations at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Greensboro using the Symposium group rate will be automatically cancelled. If you have questions about cancelling your reservation, please contact the hotel directly at 336-668-4535.

Will I need to make new hotel reservations for the rescheduled event?

Once the new block of rooms are released for the October dates, a new link will be shared to make new reservations.

Will the Symposium Schedule stay the same?

The overall schedule will remain the same, with classes beginning on Sunday followed by a Closing Lunch Banquet.  We are actively working with our speakers to ensure they are available for the new dates.  Additional details will be available closer to time.
