ListServ / Google Groups Conduct and Rules

Effective: 1/30/2007

Amended: 3/16/2007

Reviewed: 5/2/2020

All postings should be sent with the intention of promoting 9-1-1 in North Carolina and informing other members of issues relevant to the operation of their PSAP.

Include a signature tag on all messages.  Include your name, affiliation/agency, location, and email address.

State concisely and clearly the specific topic of comments in the subject line.  This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.

Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.

Send messages such as “thanks for the information” or “me, too” to individuals—not to the entire list.  Do this by using your email application’s forwarding option and typing in or cutting and pasting in the email address of the individual to whom you want to respond.

Do not challenge or attack others.  The discussions on the list are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention.  Let others have their say, just as you may.

All defamatory, discriminatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal postings are strictly prohibited.  Dialog and discussion should be handled in a professional manner.

Marketing of vendor products or services is strictly prohibited on this list serve; requests for vendor specific information should be made with requests for responses to be sent off-line.  Vendors may post information regarding training, seminars and users groups that they are sponsoring.

All list serve participants must follow these posted guidelines.  Failure to do so will result in your removal from the NCAPCONENA list serve.  The discretion to remove members from the list serve will be shared jointly by the NC NENA and NC APCO Presidents.

Posting of employment opportunities by any active member of this email list is allowed.
